Artisanity Spring Fair 2025

Bringing together the best of local crafters, artists and makers, the annual Artisanity Spring Craft Fair is a showcase of our Members and the incredible items they create.

This year the details are:

  • Sunday 9th March 2024
  • 10:30am – 3:30pm
  • Congleton Town Hall

Event Overview

Congleton Town Hall is a beautiful venue with a double height main hall in the centre of Congleton.

For the Spring Fair we will be supplementing the Craft Fair with a community art project and associated displays – see further information below.

We can fit approximately 30 single tables into the space.

As well as a curated selection of high quality local crafters and artists selling their creations we work hard to create more of a ‘destination’ atmosphere. We host some ‘Meet the Maker‘ demonstration slots where visitors can see for themselves the skills that go into creating the products. This helps to emphasise the uniqueness of the items on sale and increase awareness of crafts.

We run a raffle of donated items during Artisanity Fairs, giving out a free ticket to visitors on arrival. They can earn further raffle tickets for every £5 spent at your stall. This is extremely popular and helps to encourage our visitors to spend! We also run a ‘flamingo hunt‘ to keep our younger visitors entertained where they win a small prize if they find all of the flamingos hidden throughout the fair (spread to encourage visits to all areas of the fair).

We try to look after our stallholders too! We supply detailed ‘on the day’ information and a rota for a smoother unloading/packing up experience. Delicious food (from Mark’s Events) can be pre-ordered at the start of the event and delivered to your stall at lunch time so you don’t need to worry about keeping your energy levels up. There are free car parks on Sundays in Congleton.

We welcome stall requests from local crafters/artists/makers who are at least Basic Members of Artisanity (basic membership is free). Extra space will not be available unless pre-booked. Please see the image below for full stall fee details.

Requesting a stall doesn’t guarantee acceptance and once accepted your place is not confirmed until we have received your payment.

Community Craft Project – Congleton Lace Together

Artisanity are delighted to have been awarded a small grant from the UKSPF! This funding will be used to promote the Spring Fair, as well as an exciting new initiative on the same date: Congleton Lace Together! This community art project will bring people together to create something special for display in Congleton.

The creation of the Art Project will take place upstairs at the same time as the Spring Fair and should enhance visitor experience and increase footfall to the event. We are hoping that there will also be an associated display gallery. Congleton has a history of lacemaking so that will be the theme of the project and the displays. As lacemaking is a heritage craft these events will be promoted nationally and should generate much interest.

Meet the Maker and Demo Session

Visitors love to find out more about the crafts on offer and our ‘meet the maker’ table is a very popular spot. Meet the maker slots are generally for around 30-45mins and are very informal with makers sitting at the table doing some making and answering any questions. We encourage you to try this out if you feel it is appropriate. If you are unable to bring someone along with you to cover your stall while you are demonstrating let us know and we can organise something for you.
